Requiem for a Village (Blu-ray + DVD) BFI

$24.00

The idyllic, rural past of a Suffolk village comes to life through the memories of an old man who tends a country graveyard, in this extraordinary, little-seen folk horror from David Gladwell.

Although best known for his celebrated work as editor on Lindsay Anderson’s If…. and O Lucky Man!, Gladwell has, until now, rarely been recognised as the director of a number of groundbreaking films.

BFI Flipside is dedicated to rediscovering the margins of British film, reclaiming a space for forgotten movies and filmmakers who would otherwise be in danger of disappearing from our screens forever. It is a home for UK cinematic oddities, offering everything from exploitation documentaries to B-movies, countercultural curios and obscure classics, If it’s weird, British and forgotten, then it’s Flipside.
