Taboo

When Barbara Scott’s (Kay Parker) husband leaves her, blaming her frigidity for destroying their marriage, she’s left alone, without a source of income, and charged with taking care of their teenage son, Paul (Mike Ranger). Feeling vulnerable, she turns to her friend Gina (Juliet Anderson) who opens Barbara’s eyes to the secret world of suburban swingers. But as erotic tension grows, Barbara begins to fantasize about her handsome son…

One of the most significant and controversial films ever made, Kirdy Stevens’ TABOO became one of the biggest hits of the 80s, catapulting its star, Kay Parker, to international fame. Newly restored from rare 35mm vault elements, Vinegar Syndrome presents this landmark piece of underground cinema on Blu-ray for the first time anywhere in the world.

Taboo 2 + 3

Set shortly after the conclusion of TABOO, TABOO 2 introduces Junior McBride (Kevin James) who, upon discovering that his best friend, Paul (Mike Ranger), had a relationship with his mother (Kay Parker), begins to explore his own curiosity for familial love, with his sister Sherry (Dorothy LeMay). Although initially hesitant, Sherry quickly discovers her desire for her brother, and the siblings soon begin an illicit affair…until their mother (Honey Wilder) catches them in the act… Director Kirdy Stevens and writer/producer Helene Terrie’s acclaimed follow-up to their 1980 blockbuster is an engrossing psychological drama that features Honey Wilder’s most infamous and celebrated performance.

In Kirdy Stevens and Helene Terrie’s third entry in their TABOO franchise, Kay Parker reprises her role of Barbara Scott, whose son Paul has left home due to the stress of their unnatural relationship. With only her younger son (Jerry Butler), who’s more concerned with his band and best friend (Blake Palmer) than his mother, to keep her company, Barbara finds a friend in Joyce McBride (Honey Wilder), as the two of them discover their shared illicit pasts and begin to plan the next stages of their lives… TABOO 3 is a thought provoking story of forbidden desires, featuring some of the biggest stars of the era.

Taboo 4

In the fourth installment of Kirdy Stevens’ popular TABOO series, the focus shifts to Dr. Jeremy Lodge (Jamie Gillis), a prominent psychologist who deals with clients who have been traumatized by incest. Unknown to him, his wife Alice (Cyndee Summers) has been having an affair with his brother (John Leslie). After their teenage daughters Robin and Naomi (Ginger Lynn and Karen Summer respectively) are expelled from boarding school, things come to a head when Jeremy discovers the affair and he and Alice split up, each taking one girl. Soon erotic tensions build as Naomi begins to lust after her uncle and Robin becomes more and more fascinated by the concept of incest…

The last TABOO film to receive a theatrical release, TABOO 4 features writer/producer Helene Terrie’s most accomplished and daring script along side exceptional performances from Karen Summer, Lynn, Leslie, and Gillis, as well as Honey Wilder reprising her role of Joyce McBride. Easily among the greatest erotic features of the 1980s, Vinegar Syndrome proudly presents TABOO 4 on Blu-ray newly restored from its original 35mm camera negative.
